We wanted to let you know what changes we’ve been working on over the past few weeks to make sure we were ready to keep you, and our staff safe when we were given the green light to finally start reopening.
Firstly, as I am sure you are aware, we have been offering ‘The Fat Boar on Tour’ takeaway during lockdown, and I assure you that it will become a permanent fixture to The Fat Boar.
However much we would love to be shaking your hand or giving you a hug right now, please respect each other’s personal space, by maintaining a social distance where possible.
On arrival, we will ask that you wait at the door to be greeted by one of our team, and sanitise your hands on the way into the pub. this is so we can take you through to your table, while explaining how the visit will work, and to keep a reasonable number of people in the pub at any one time. Which is also why we are asking for you to book in advance.
We are only opening outside tables for now and we can do tables of 8 people or less, from up to 2 households that are in their ‘social bubble’.
We want you to feel as comfortable as possible during your visit. We have regular cleaning going in throughout the building, the team will be washing their hands every twenty minutes, sanitising the touch points at least every half an hour. All our staff have been trained on the essential cleaning that is being done, including the use of a fogging machine that sanitises and kills covid19 within 12 seconds.
In order to do our upmost to maintain a safe distance while taking order & serving drinks, we have our own app, that you can easily download and have food & drinks delivered to your table, if you would rather be served by our team they will be on hand, from a safe distance of course.
All the staff want to make your visit as comfortable & enjoyable as possible so will be happy to help if you have any questions or concerns during your visit
We have carefully considered and removed a few tables & chairs, as well as creating more space between each table. And for that reason, we respectfully ask that you do not move any tables around
Along with our app, we will be using single use paper menus, that are recycled afterwards.
We love our bar, and we cannot wait to see you there, but for now, we will be looking after you from your table only.
The toilets will be cleaned every twenty minutes, using our fogging machine, we do ask that you be patient, as each toilet will only be able to service one person at a time.
Cash & Card
We will have the app, and contactless payments to reduce the need for cash, but we will be accepting cash where necessary.
All a Bit Strange
It is going to be a bit strange for all of us to start with. All we ask is that you stay patient, and respectful. We will get through it, and eventually together we can get back to normal, look back and smile!
We are very proud of our beautiful pub, and although we have maintained most of how we want it to look, we have also installed a number of sanitiser units throughout the building for you to use anytime without any inconvenience.
Government Track & Trace
We will be asking for the details from a member of each party, as per the government track & trace system. We will keep the information for 21 days. We will not use it for any other reason. We hope you understand.

“Got to say I was a bit worried after reading some of the negative reviews but I am so glad we ignored them and went.
Best fajitas I’ve had in a long time!!! We upgraded to the dirty fries too amazing.
Then for pudding I had the caramac cheesecake. Loved it that much I bought a slice to bring home for tomorrow.
Service was brilliant. As soon as our glasses were empty there was a waitress asking if we wanted another.”

“Visited for Sunday lunch - food was amazing, sticky sausages are always a favourite! Had the veggie roast, so tasty! Lots of sides, all freshly cooked and well flavoured. Cocktail choices are excellent and great value at 2 for £10. Love coming here for boozy brunch, theme nights and a la carte - no better place in Wrexham!”
